I loved the first book Marked. So I knew I was going to love this one.I forgot to mention something in my first review so I will say it now.
I always read the reviews of whatever it is I am getting before I get it. Well I read a review about one of the books, and it made me very mad. This person said something about how Kara is way to insecure and not intelligent. Well no kidding her character is a insecure teenager of course she will state what she thinks are her flaws. Every insecure person does that. Also this review kept on stating things from like every chapter of the book and saying how stupid it was, and how if you are not a young teen you should not read it. Now I agree with the young teen part, but if you don't like the book.....then just say "this book book wasn't really my style." Don't try and dis the author of the book because she wrote a story you did not like, and they also mentioned how it was a good thing that it was free. I loved that it was free. I liked it because you didn't have to pay for a GREAT book. Sorry if I offended anyone, but like I said if you don't like it keep it to your self.
Ok now back to my review on Elemental. I LOVED this book too it was full of twist and turns, and the author transitioned beautifully. She did not just state and move on she gave detail, and not every author does that with their books.I really liked when David, Peter, and Jenny rescued Kara from angle prison Tartarus (I forgot how to spell it I dont know if that's right.) But anyways it was a huge risk, but it was a very brave decision. I love how Kara, David, Jenny, and Peter went to Paris to find Kara's mother's soul only to find it in the Netherworld. A world full of demons.I also liked the way Kara's friends supported her even though they knew deep down the mission was dangerous. I loved how Kim added Thor the talking dog Scout he lead the to Kara's mother's soul in the Eiffel Tower. The description of him makes him sound so cute. I love English Bull Dogs they are cute. I love these books and once I have all of them I will probably read the series over again.

---Soul Guardian Series--
MARKED is the first book in the Soul Savers Series and it's free. I downloaded it to read based on the good reviews and the fact that it was a "READERS FAVORITE AWARDS WINNER 2011". It's an excellent book for a reader to find out whether the series is of interest to them. It did take me 1/3 of the book to warm up to the characters but I stuck with it anyway. The characters and the storyline, in my opinion, are very underdeveloped. Kara the main characters is insecure and an accident waiting to happen. It is only in the last couple chapters she kicks some butt and I thought "Yes, this is what I want to see."
ELEMENTAL is the second book in the series and I was pretty disappointed. I was excited to read more about Kara's new talent and also to see her grow as a person and unfortunately with 179 pages, not much happens within either of the two areas. Kara still seems to stumble along as she manages to defeat a couple demons with her extra ability, but only when she gets mad enough at the situation. If she isn't sufficiently mad or angry she has to rely on her friends and their superior battle skills.
A potential apocalypse is in the works as guardian angels are disappearing all over the world. I was more than ready for Kara to step it up and show some leadership abilities and make changes. I was also hoping to see how her powers would factor into making her special.
This book was interesting enough to make me want to know what is going to happen next in HORIZON. I am sure Kara will eventually find her powers and confidence but I find that I am not interested enough to pay the $2.99 for less than 170 pages of a conclusion.
This book is seriously awesome, for fantasy lovers and people who need to read something new! The first book of this is soul guardian series which is the book where Kara becomes a guardian angel. Although angel might sound boring or fairy tale like,don't fall for the word- being an angel is really cool!They have soul-blades,moonstones,firestones and weapons which are unimaginable.
The whole story is about defeating the demon king Asmodeous who turns out to be Kara Nightingale's mysterious father.You will find this in "elemental" only. She's a elemental-which means born to an angel and human. But Kara doesn't know she's the daughter of Asmodeous and her elemental power is half demon.
You won't understand a thing if you haven't read "marked" but try it-and you'll love it! Be sure to read it. And you'll possibly would go on reading the rest in the series. And you'll love David too-he's Kara's best friend and also a bit more!
Please read "marked" first to get a proper understanding.......
I loved the first one but this is just as awesome can't wait to read the next one!I totally recommend this as much a I did the first!!!!😇😈😆💓
I read a lot of free books from . Generally you can get the first book in a series for free. That being said, this is the first series I got hooked on enough to read further and purchase the next story.
It's a great story and I love the level of detail put into creating the mythology of these worlds.
The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the occasional inattention to detail. Don't worry, no spoilers.
1. When they are walking around NYC, she says "street" when she must have meant "avenue". Otherwise they would have just been pacing up and down Manhattan!
2. Kara is restrained at one point with chains. Then when she breaks free, her restraints were leather.
3. In the book suggestions at the end of this novel, the next was "Elemental" even though the image of the book was clearly "Netherworld".
Again, these shortcomings are not enough to keep me from reading on. But if I caught them on the first read, I just feel her editors could have done a better job.
